A Trip To the Dark Side?
As you may know, we just went live with our Prison Suit Trump Action Figure this week. He's turned out to be a pretty big hit but honestly we had no idea how he'd be received when we first announced him.
We're a bit out of our comfort zone here. Our stated mission has always been to turn our real life heroes into action figures and we weren't sure how people would feel about us dabbling in the dark side. But the numbers don't lie – clearly a bunch of you wanted to add a baddie to your collection.
It's not a huge surprise though. Everyone knows that it's the villains that sell movie tickets. And Darth Vader is far and away Star Wars' best selling character. (We're pretty sure kids don't even know who Luke is anymore!) So there's clearly a precedent here. Like it or not, bad guys are fun.
So we should make more of them, right? Well not so fast.
On the other side, we've also gotten plenty of feedback along the lines of "I already see enough of him" and "I'm so disappointed you did this". It was clear that some of our biggest fans felt pretty strongly that this was not the way to go.
Our house is divided. What's a brand to do?
We did what we often do in these moments - we asked you for advice. First we sent out a survey just asking whether or not we should make more bad guys. Then we followed up by asking the people from each camp to suggest which heroes or villains they'd most like to see immortalized in plastic.*
The results were truly fascinating! We could tell you about them but we thought it would be more fun to show you instead. So we laid out this handy infographic. Have a look!
What do you make of it? And if you were us, what would you do? Let us know in the comments.
* Psssst... you can still add suggestions to that surveys if you want. Here's the Good Guys Survey. And here's the one for Bad Guys Survey.

I think Prisoner Trump was funny. However, I associate action figures with accomplished people and heroes. I would not buy any of the villains as an action figure. I don’t want to see any of them on my shelf. We need more positivity!

I love having heroes in my collection. The one orange devil is enough. I found several heroes I’d like to buy but no other villains. Let’s keep the positive vibes moving forward.

I missed the first round of this. But to me, The Orange Devil is as evil as any that Planet Earth has ever seen, certainly at least since Hitler. This is someone who took nursing infants out of the arms of breastfeeding Mothers just trying to bring them to America. My understand is there are still a thousand or two who have never been returned to their Moms. This is a man who told people Covid was Fake News, that it would be gone in a week, or just drink bleach, so you don't need to mask up, get vaxed or boosted, nor distance from others – resulting in over a million deaths in the U.S. Why is he not already in jail for MURDER!?! And ever since he came on the scene, his lies and deliberate, B.S., cruel shenanigans have totally distracted from the rapidly approaching end of humanity. So, his evil affects the entirety of humans and other life on Mother Earth. As for Heroes, Ghandi, the Dalai Lama, Nelson Mandela and Oprah, have probably done more than any other humans in history, to 'Come From a Place of Love' and bring people together regardless of color, culture, gender, religion, or any other asinine mentalities. How is it possible that the no-doubt, wonderful women the likes of Dolly Parton and Taylor Swift are on that list, but these others are not?
But the Number One hero for American Women , (also not even on the list), has to be Margaret Sanger.
Without her honest and courageous, organizing, speaking out, protesting & marching for Birth Control Freedom in the 60s, most women would still be uneducated and unemployed, & still spending their lives in the kitchen/bedroom, barefoot and pregnant! And many would not even have survived such a fate; but either way there would be a lot more unwanted babies in our society than there already are.
Oprah and Margaret Sanger should be the Number One Women we honor on our United States currency!!C. on

Bad Guy Trump is funny, but I think Good Guys are more important. We have enough negativity already.

I voted for the villains. After thinking who would I suggest to be an action figure, I realized I would not purchase any of them. Seeing the list of villains confirmed I would not buy them.

Stick with the Heroes! We need to acknowledge the people who are trying to make a positive difference. I love the Greta Thunberg and Malala Yousafzai suggestions. Let's celebrate the young heroes.
